I put the 'Man' in 'Manifesto'

Ok let's be honest. My blog's subtitle is bull-shit. I mean, really. What does that even mean? The true answer is "I don't really know. I thought it sounded good." And I still think that. You can cover all of your bases by just talking about the "general splendor of humanity." But, I figure I need to clear up what exactly it is that I am doing here. To understand that, you need to know a little bit more about me.
I suffer under the following delusions:
  1. That I am aspiring writer. I say aspiring because in order to call oneself a writer one must have actually completed some writing. I am a history major and as such have written what could be colloquially called a "shit ton," but I think to actually accomplish "writing" you have to mix equal doses of passion and volition. In other words there is a distinct difference between being able to write and writing. I guess this is my attempt to start bridging the gap.
  2. That I am funny. Or at least amusing. Or unpleasantly sarcastic, depending on your (in this case, boring) tastes. At the very least I like to try to make people laugh and will continue to try in this blog, whatever form it ends up taking. I am doing a good job so far with this dreadfully boring manifesto, so here are some dirty words to crack a smile from you immature types: shit, piss, and fuck-wit.
  3. That I will one day travel the world at my leisure, possibly while simultaneously indulging delusion number 1. I love traveling and had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy last summer. I plan on studying abroad in Ireland this summer. These are the things that I would like to continue to do, but unfortunately they cost a lot of money. I am broke-ass. This is why this is a delusion. But, the travel-writing/marrying-into-a-lot-of-freaking-money dream continues and so I have incorporated it into this blog. Maybe I will write a little about my travels. Maybe I will write about places that I would like to travel. Maybe I will write absurd adventure stories about myself as Indiana Jones. I think this is all looking pretty good.
Those are the delusions that are driving this particular endeavor of mine. If I think of any more I will surely let you know. This of course assumes that I will, in time, acquire readers. Until then, I am off to post anonymous positive comments on this first post to convince others that it is really cool. Peace.
